How to solve the high frequency loss of planar transformer

Gallium nitride has the advantage of high frequency characteristics. Currently, the gallium nitride fast charging frequency starting at exceeding 100KHz, even as high as 300KHz. As the power devices' switching frequency increases significantly, various parasitic parameters gradually affect the fast charging efficiency under high frequency conditions.How to eliminate the influence of parasitic parameters, reduce high frequency losses, improve fast charging efficiency is an urgent problem for electronic transformer manufacturers to solve. It's really difficult to overcome the problem of high frequency loss, electronic transformer manufactures request to optimize the original design structure, because the higher the frequency, the higher the penetration depth is, and the thickness of copper foil needs to be thinner to reduce the skin effect impact.

Fully consider the influence of parasitic parameters caused by high frequencies. For example, it is more difficult to deal with EMC and EMI at high frequency, using a better magnetic material to make a design to help power engineers solve the problem of electromagnetic interference.

The AC resistance is the most important factor affecting the loss of the planar transformer, so the AC impedance can be reduced by the PCB stack structure.

Reduce distributed capacitance and improve power MOSFET efficiency. If the integrated capacitance is too large, it will cause the MOSFET to heat up greatly, further reducing the power efficiency.

In the design process, initial thermal and magnetic simulations are performed on the parameters to verify the feasibility of the design and understand the loss of the planar transformer, thereby reducing the loss of the planar transformer and improving the efficiency of the planar transformer.
